WELCOME TO TOOLS OF
HER TRADE
I used to FIX the problems. Soon, I'll INSPECT them.
My saws may be retired, but my eye for detail is sharper than ever

My Personal Remodel
After over 25 years in the "business world" I decided it was time to do something new. Something where I could make make someone happy and bring me joy every day.

I found that as a HandyWoman. For almost eight years, I loved going to homes and repairing things: from hanging shelves and lights to hanging new drywall to hanging new siding. My goal was to make their home a place of comfort rather than a place that needed a lot of work. And, I did just that. They were happy and so was I.

At the same time, I became a Certified Aging-in-Place specialist. Another way I can help homeowners love and live happily (and safely) in their homes.

As much as I wanted to continue being a HandyWoman, my body didn't agree. So I had to stop the "fixing" part of Tools of Her Trade. What was I going to do? I still wanted to do this type of work! Ugh.

Then it came to me. I can use my experience working on the insides and outsides of homes and become a Certified Licensed Home Inspector. So I registered for the certification training and got started. It is so much more than I expected. All of the systems in a house: electrical, HVAC, plumbing, chimneys, decks, structure, roofs...I am learning the insides and outsides of each one. It's really cool.

So, I am putting down my hammer (and saws) and picking up a flashlight.
But don't worry. My eye for detail is sharper than ever.

So here I am. Ready to get going and get it done using the tools of MY trade.
